I interviewed at Marks & Clerk (London, England) in Jan 2018
Interview
Applied with CV and cover letter.
First interview had 3 stages:
- a test comprising relatively simple chemistry questions, a spelling and grammar correction piece, and a letter writing task
-a technical interview with 2 patent attorneys (why profession, technical experience, talk about test)
-a HR interview with 1 lady (knowledge of firm and competencies)
Didn't get to second round of interviews.
First interview was general and behavioural questions. After that there was a technical interview with a partner. Then was invited to complete a spelling and grammar test. All interviews were online.
I applied online. I interviewed at Marks & Clerk (Cambridge, England)
Interview
Submit CV and cover letter alongside short piece on a recent project. Virtual HR and technical interview (SPAG test, short essay, technical knowledge questions). Final in person interview with partners with technical task to complete too.
I interviewed at Marks & Clerk (Glasgow, Scotland)
Interview
Interview was good, but it was clear they had already decided on a few people from the outset. The interview was about 20 people at once in a sort of assessment day with individual interviews on top. Their feedback was terrible, calling a female applicant out as having 'bubbly personality' to my mind is borderline misogyny on grounds that the wouldn't have been saying that to male candidates, I was furious at that part.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to review a technical document which I duly did, and then asked me why it was that particular method was used.
