I applied online. I interviewed at Marriott International (Washington, DC) in Jan 2019
Interview
I have over 8 years experience in sales and sales management, most recently directly training and managing a team of 50-75 salesmen. I’m not afraid to start small and work my way up through a company if it’s one that I believe in. I was sent an email a week later saying that I didn’t meet their criteria even though the job description on their website asked for 1-2 years sales experience. I wasn’t even granted a phone call from a recruiter. Perhaps I’m over-qualified, but why on earth would I submit an application unless I truly wanted to work for Marriott?
Same thing happened with Kimpton, one of Marriott’s subsidiaries.
