I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Maurices (New York, NY) in Nov 2015
Interview
Received a call from a manager from a different location than the one I actually applied. She was very sweet and let me know that the next day there would be 2 group interviews. I attended one with four other girls. She literally just went down the line asking us the questions I provided below. It was very relaxed and took about 45 minutes.
Tip: don't forget to bring your resume and cover letter printed on good quality 100% cotton paper.
It doesn't hurt to get the managers name and send a thank you note 2-3 days after the interview. I read a statistic that said thank you notes raise your likability.
I applied online. I interviewed at Maurices (North Branch, MN) in Apr 2026
Interview
In the back room, no styling a mannequin as seen sometimes, pretty average but some confusing questions, questions about experience, scheduling, pay, skills, how to resolve conflicts, your relationships with customers or coworkers , accomplishments, etc.
Interview was good. Basic questions. A couple questions about style like what is my favorite fashion trend at the moment. Overall an average interview. Other questions were about customer service.
In person interview ~40 min, was an average interview with normal questions. Got an offer the day of through a phone call later that day. Overall average interview process, start with phone call and ended with offer over the phone.
