I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Max Muscle (Springfield, VA) in Jan 2016
Interview
Overall good. Focused on brand awareness and subject matter expertise on supplements, nutrition, and exercise. If you don't know your stuff, you probably won't be hired. Former athletes preferred.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Max Muscle (Orange, CA)
Interview
The interviewer was very casual in technique. I did not feel too nervous or overwhelmed. However, there were not many job related questions asked. The interview was more to determine a cultural fit with the company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
This is a body focused industry, and as such, there are many conversations that would be deemed inappropriate at most companies (i.e. there are models in swimsuits, discussions on weight, etc.). Would you be comfortable in this type of environment?
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Max Muscle (Columbia, MD) in May 2011
Interview
The owner was a close friend and granted me the position based on my prior sales experience. I enjoyed working with the company but the business aspect was lacking. It became more of a personal pantry for supplements and really gouged the profit margins. Moreover, the associates were often blamed for this product loss. Discounts were often given to clients so frequently that it became expected overtime.
