I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mayer Brown (Hong Kong) in Aug 2019
Interview
Rigorous, multiple interviews stages to obtain training contract offer. Group exercises, written tests, and final panel of recruitment partners. Typically this follows a month-long internship during the summer holidays. There is also an option to do a winter internship but this is rarer.
First was a standard application screening, then a video interview with standard competency/motivational questions. You get a minute or so of preparation
Overall a standard modern interview process, not that different from other law firm interview processes
Written test asking for various soft skills and then a virtual interview with pre recorded questions. Interview with partners after but did not make it to that stage of the recruitment process.
There are in total several rounds of interview or something. First is to fill in a form. The next is an aptitude test. After that is an interview. I did not go further after that
