I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at MedKoder in June 2022
Interview
The process started with a phone interview with HR, just general work experience questions. Then there was a 2nd phone interview with HR going into more detailed questions regarding, background, work experience, personal work ethics etc., next was a coding assessment and then a last phone interview with the coding lead.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at MedKoder in Jan 2017
Interview
The lady contacted me by email soon after I submitted my application. She asked for a time to speak on the phone, which was the next day. She asked a few of the basic interview questions, then set up another phone date for a second interview. During the second interveiw, the questions were more intense, which I didn't respond to as well as I wished I would have. But she was still very pleasant to talk to.

Question 1
What greatest strength did you bring to your work enviroment?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MedKoder
Interview
The recruiter, Amy, was very nice and incredibly helpful. All interview/pre-screening took place via phone as this was a remote position.
Based on the position description at the time, I was actually overqualified, but wanted to give it a shot as MedKoder seems to be a great company. With that said, as I went through the pre-employment process of communicating with the recruiter, there ended up being a lot of back and forth between her and the CEO regarding a requirement for AAPC certifications, although AHIMA certifications were listed as acceptable. The CEO's involvement struck me as odd, very rare someone from the C-suite is ever involved with the hiring of operational employees.
I was ultimately offered the job under the condition I obtain a CPC and/or CRC. I opted for a position with a different firm who recognized my existing AHIMA credentials, college degrees, and several years of related work experience (better pay too).
This company seems to only be looking for AAPC folks, with little to no regard for the higher level certifications from AHIMA (RHIT, RHIA, which require college degrees). Even if you have a decade's worth of experience in a related field, they really don't lean towards individual's with AHIMA credentials. It's my understanding that the CEO is a CPC himself, or has some form of an AAPC credential. This might be why the company leans more towards AAPC and does not recognize the value of AHIMA certified professionals. So AHIMA folks beware, your value and expertise are not recognized here.

Question 1
Standard interview questions. Fairly easy and straightforward.
The skills assessment was incredibly easy- word document with several ICD-10-CM questions, not timed.
