      Insights Analyst Interview

      23 May 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Palo Alto, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Medallia (Palo Alto, CA) in May 2017

      Interview

I was referred by a friend to the insights analyst position, and was soon contacted. The entire process took about 4 weeks (occurred during the middle of the company's "Experience" conference). I worked with Meghna - who is AMAZING - who helped facilitate several phone interviews with senior managers, a case that I had to present to the team over video conference, as well as an onsite interview.

      Insight Analyst Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Medallia

      Interview

Extremely unprofessional recruiter. I received an initial email asking for my availability to talk, no response for 2 days and then sent me the same original email. Could you track your communication? A week later, We finally talked on the phone and the recruiter sounded very positive but sends out an email later with 0 feedback saying it isn’t a great match. Not sure if you know, but a recruiter reflects a ton about the company. Please try and be respectful of the candidates time.

      Insights Analyst Interview

      13 May 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Medallia in Mar 2015

      Interview

I received a phone call from a recruiter and had a seemingly smooth and straightforward phone interview. The next day, I received an email saying I was rejected. Confused because I thought our interview went well, I emailed the recruiter to ask for an explanation. Turns out, I was rejected because I said I liked that the position was more interactive and "analyst" focused than technical and they were afraid I was not interested in the technical. That's fine, except for the fact that for most of the 40 minute conversation I talked about my technical skills and highlighted favorite projects and roles from my technical degree. It made me wonder why he chose to highlight this inaccurate portrayal of our conversation and whether he was even listening.

Thank you for your feedback. I am following up with your recruiter to see if there was any additional reasoning behind this decision. Clearly, the explanation we gave you regarding why we were not proceeding did not match either your experience of the interview or your background. Strong candidates should not be passed over because of one single comment they made. If you have any additional insights, please email me at amy.pressman@medallia.com.
