Question 1
How will go about executing a customer facing feature that involves cross-functional stake holders
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (Irvine, CA) in June 2019
Interview
Three interviews over three months: 15 min HR screening, 30 min phone, and a one hour in-person.
Phone interview with position manager and teammate.
In-person interview with department lead, position manager, and teammate.
No feedback or any responses to follow up emails, just a surprise “next step” every three weeks.
MBRDNA requested a 20 minute presentation on Wednesday night before the Monday morning in-person interview. 5 min “about you”, 15 min case study of what you would do in the role. This seemed ok for this industry, could be a deterrent for others.
Four HR people throughout the process.
1) Sr. Recruiter reached out for screening and arranged the team phone interview.
2) Associate that arranged the in-person and travel.
3) Associate that met with me at the front desk.
4) Associate that walked me to the in-person interview room.
Three and a half weeks after the in-person interview I received a one sentence email denial from the Sr Recruiter. No response to a request for feedback.
MBRDNA paid for a round trip flight and covered rideshare expenses to/from the airport.
My suggestion to MBRDNA would be to provide the bare minimum level of feedback to candidates. ~26 hours went into this process with nothing to show for it and no indication of what went wrong.
