I went through a four-stage interview process with Mercedes-Benz.io for a Data Compliance Officer.
The interviews themselves were professional, and the people I spoke with were engaged and knowledgeable. However, the overall process felt excessively long and demanding given the final outcome.
After completing all four rounds, I was informed that the decision was made due to the presence of âvery strong candidates.â. While competition is expected, it raises the question of why multiple candidates are taken through such an extensive process if the margin for decision is ultimately so narrow.
From a candidate perspective, investing significant time and energy into several interview stagesâincluding preparation for each roundâonly to be rejected at the very end can be quite discouraging. A more streamlined process or clearer alignment earlier on could improve the experience.
