I applied via Indeed to the Contract Recruiter role (they were open to remote candidates for this role). Heard from the HR Generalist, had an interview with her, then had separate interviews with the CPO/CMO, with the CEO, and with their VP of Sales. I shared with the CPO/CMO that I was open to the Senior People Operations Manager role they had posted as well, having strategic POps experience in my last role. All interviews went well, the CEO and VP of Sales in particular seemed very interested in my background, those subsequent interviews were scheduled over the 3 weeks following my first. I was told a few days after the last interview that an offer was being prepared. Then I was told that the CPO/CMO wanted to speak with me again over the phone. She told me that, if I would consider relocating (I am unable and was very honest about this), that they'd give me the permanent Senior People Operations Manager role, but that because I cannot relocate she wanted to think about it more. Finally, around a month after that phone call and numerous follow up emails, I was finally told that I was not selected for either role via email and they "went with an internal candidate".
