I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Met Office (Exeter, England) in Feb 2026
Interview
I submitted a CV and cover letter, completed online assessments, and was invited to interview directly with their team - none of this AI filtering! I spoke to an actual human whilst being interviewed for a placement! As someone who's applied for about 80 placements, this is one of 3 times i spoke to real people during the application process! And what's better? They sent the questions to prepare answers to before hand! I could properly articulate myself and had the opportunity to fully showcase my experience without the nerves. I felt very comfortable during the whole process and can't wait to start working there :)

It was good. They are looking for answers which mostly match with the job requirements and show that you are a good fit for the job. They also asked a few questions on my knowledge of the job role.
