I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta in Mar 2018
Interview
Applied through a recruiter that reached out and set up an initial phone screen. After the phone interview I was told that someone would be reaching out in the next 2-3 weeks to schedule a 2nd interview that would be via video conference. 3 weeks later I received a call from a Data Scientist who expected an interview to take place, which unfortunately I had not been notified of. I apologized to the Data Scientist and explained the mix up. After reaching back out to my recruiter I immediately received an email apology from their HR coordinator who had forgotten to notify me of the interview.
I rescheduled the interview for the following week. The hour long interview was split into two parts, technical and case study. The technical interview included pretty simple questions over SQL queries and how I would pull data needed for analysis. The case study revolved around taking a current Facebook feature and determining which KPIs would provide insight on the effectiveness of enhancements. Overall I felt the interview went fairly well and was told that I would hear back within a week or two on if they would be scheduling an in person interview.
I never heard back from Facebook after my 2nd interview, even after following up with my recruiter after a month had gone by without any news. Overall the process felt very disorganized and seemed very unprofessional.

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Meta
Interview
Completed 3 rounds of the process, which includes the initial recruiter screen, technical, full loop, and team matching.
Couldn't move past the full loop interview. The interview was very engaging, and I actually enjoyed working through the cases. No crazy questions.
It's all organized. Be prepared to showcase your depth of thinking. Two analytical rounds will make you think on your ability to solve probability and experimentation problems. Have a structure for everything
