      Product Manager Interview

      25 Mar 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta in Aug 2021

      Interview

I interviewed for Meta in 2021, the process was pretty straightforward, and surprisingly it was different, everything starts with: - Recruiter contacting you, he/she will do the phone screening, they explain the JD for you, and then if you are interested, they will ask you to send 3 dates/time that works for you - You will be scheduled for 3 interviews, but the goal is to pass the first 2 before you get into the 3rd and the loop round - Once you get into the loop round, you will probably have 2-3 rounds depending on the role - Finally, if you are selected, they will send you an offer The good thing was: - Meta (Facebook) now has a portal that provides prep material, they just started it, so it has limited content - You will also be invited for a 15-20 mins Demo session and they are good for preparation Now the bad thing: - Your interview totally depends on the person taking your interview, sometimes you may get a person who might not even let you speak, will not listen to you, will keep interrupting you, and it happens a lot with Meta/Facebook interviews based on my experience - In a couple of interview sessions that I had, I felt like people came with a mindset to not hire the person, in that case, there is nothing you can do, no matter how much you prepare My experience was Neutral, I'm hoping it will be better next time, and for that, one has to wait for at least a year for you to be considered again.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Meta (New York, NY)

      Interview

The process began with an initial recruiter phone screen focused on my background, product experience, and interest in Meta. This was followed by a series of virtual interviews covering product sense, analytical thinking, execution, and behavioral questions. Interviewers asked me to work through product design scenarios, discuss how I would prioritize competing opportunities, define success metrics, and describe examples of cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management. The final round consisted of multiple back-to-back interviews with product managers and cross-functional partners. Overall, the process was structured, professional, and challenging. The interviewers were engaged and provided clear expectations for each interview.
