I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in Jan 2025
Interview
The process has been described ad nauseam elsewhere. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, we had the initial conversation (she was late, texted me 2 minutes into the call). Seemed to be more of a check mark/red flag discussion. Next steps (scheduling Analytical and Product Sense interviews) moved fairly quickly - dates offered less than 2 weeks out which worked for me).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Product Sense was fairly straightforward - how would you build a parking product for Google Maps. I've seen several prep videos on the topic which may have actually been a disadvantage - I really like the idea of building a marketplace to rent out driveways/garages for short term parking in cities where parking is sparse. Pretty sure my interviewer has also seen them; he seemed to be disappointed we were moving slow (I felt we were on track), but did not rush/interrupt unnecessarily. Not sure what his thoughts were.
For the "analytical" interview, the interviewer showed up 7 minutes late, told me he would interrupt frequently, and presented this gem: "You are the Product Manager for Facebook Events - what do you do?"
Interview process was fairly straightforward. Recruiters are super helpful in getting you prepared for whats to come. Interviews got scheduled fairly fast, so having the momentum is great. Each interview only lasted about 30 minutes. from start to finish it took about 1 month
A multi-stage interview process that typically includes screening, technical and/or case assessments, and conversations with different stakeholders to evaluate both your skills and how well you’d work with the team and the role.
Multiple rounds across product, engineering, and business leaders. Long cycle and many situational questions..."how would you respond.." many questions about specific prior experiences in handling challenges, frictions, leadership. Be prepared for lengthy process
