I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in July 2025
Interview
I only experienced one recruiter screening call and one round of 45 minutes case study interview with one product designer.
There are some email back and forth with my recruiter and a interview coordinator due to rescheduling.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
With recruiter:
1. my work experience and background
2. employment authorization/sponsorship
With product designer:
1. walk through case studies (2 for total of 45 minutes)
2. when you facing a difficult time with engineering team, how did you come to an agreement?
3. in your experience working with other teams to solve problems, do you ever need to relearn new skills and knowledge?
Straightforward like any big tech interview, but long and intense. Formats are pretty standardized so it just takes practice. Questions appear like it's from a bank, so if you're prepared you should be fine.

Interview
I was reached out by a recruiter. Started with the recruiter call, then portfolio presentation, then full loop (Portfolio presentation - app critique - design challenge - background). They had very strong emphasis on design craft and visual excellence. Recruiter who helped me prep was very nice and helpful.
Typical interview process consisting of multiple rounds—Pre-screen, Portfolio Presentation, Full-Loop (Presentation, App Crit, Whiteboard Challenge and Behavioral) - Felt I did really well, and I got great feedback during the rounds but ultimately received no offer.
