      Talent Acquisition Interview

      12 July 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Metalsa (New York, NY) in June 2018

      Interview

Applied on Indeed, it was being handled by third-party firm. After their screen, I had a phone screen with their talent acquisition manager in Mexico, followed up by a video call. That all clearly went well because I was invited to interview in E-town. Unfortunately there was a breakdown in communication from the third-party, he started texting me abruptly rather than email or call. He didn't send any info prior to my interview which was on a Monday i.e. who I would be meeting with, any notes from previous people who have been successful or unsuccessful. On top of that, the role didn't click with me, I didn't go into all cylinders, at least the last stage. I wasn't really looking to be with a manufacturer although the role would be supporting their professional teams, engineering, etc... So I'm expecting a call from the recruiter first thing Monday to psych me up for this interview, but it was his manager letting me know that he's let my recruiter go, asking if I had any info on my interview - nope - don't know what building I'm going to or entrance, I don't know who I'm meeting with specifically though I've been viewing profiles on LinkedIn, and I'm ready to go but I'm not ready to go. He tried to give me some tidbits but he seems only focused on if I am a viable to regain a better relationship with Metalsa. On site, the interview was with the entire team, panel, they had prepared questions or score sheet. I only did okay but know I was done when I couldn't give a strong answer to what I know about the company. I'm not entry-level so year of founding, annual revenue isn't going to be a conversation piece for me, but my mediocre search for info didn't bring me a topic to make the kill. After recounting my experience with the third-party I and never heard from them again not even a note that they were going forward with other candidates.
