I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Metron, Inc. (Arlington, VA) in June 2020
Interview
HR team was terrible and they expect too much from their candidates for entry level positions. I applied online and was invited to a 30m phone screen to speak briefly on my experience, then was invited to a full business day of interviews, which included a presentation of my choice (any completed data science project you were proud of) and 5 other interviews with members of their advanced data analytics team. This is typical of FAANG companies, or the Booz Allens and Deloittes of the government consulting world, but Metron is nowhere near their size. The recruiters told me they are "usually pretty quick with decision making and if you interview on a Friday you'll hear by Monday" but the recruiters didn't respond to my initial email asking about my status after 2 weeks. The icing on the cake was when Glassdoor invited me to apply to a "recently posted Data Scientist Job at Metron", which was the same job I applied for over a month before. I called the recruiter at that point and they awkwardly told me the position was closed due to "lack of need" and they thought someone already told me the position was closed.

We have communicated our apologies directly with this individual, but we also feel it is important to address that while we strive for perfection sometimes we make mistakes. The process is rigorous for a reason however we owe it to all candidates to respond in a timely manner, we will ensure this does not happen again.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Metron, Inc. in July 2020
Interview
I had a phone interview followed by a coding interview with one question and no time limit. I got stuck and nervous during the interview, but the helped me through it. Even though, I do think that them helping me damaged my possibility of going further along in the interview process.

Question 1
What is a stack and a queue? And what are they used for?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Metron, Inc. (Reston, VA) in May 2020
Interview
Stereotypical phone screen to get to know you. Person I interviewed with let me know that there would be nearly a full-day interview in which I would have to give about an hour presentation on a project of my choice. As soon as I heard this, I no longer cared about working at this company. I think this interview process is ridiculous. I do not want to spend nearly a full-day of my time for an unpaid interview/presentation. Also, not all data scientists can give in-depth presentations on projects that they have previously worked on, or spend all of their free time working on projects for their personal portfolio. Moreover, their HR was terrible and extremely slow to respond.
