It was an onsite interview. After a quick tour of the office and their lab I was introduced to and interviewed by a panel of 3 people - a hiring manager, director of test and one more senior engineer who's exact title escaped me. I was asked usual questions about my prior experience and presented a problem to solve at the whiteboard. Later I was asked some usual behavioral questions.
