      Client Engagement Director Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Mighty Citizen

      Interview

Overall, seemed to be a talented team with big goals for the future. But the interview process, even with the support of an external recruiter, ultimately left me unenthusiastic to continue. Things really came to a standstill when trying to coordinate an eight-person panel, producing a huge gap between interviews. Why not divide into two four-person panels to maintain momentum and produce richer conversation? This made me concerned about the organization's ability to quickly pivot and their bias for action, and also made me wonder if this role was actually a priority. To that end, the interview questions seemed disjointed and sometimes random. That, combined with the fact the title would change throughout the process, made me wonder if they were seriously recruiting for the stated role or just figuring it out as they interviewed. I figured they would end up not hiring at all, or worse, hire someone with a loose job description who would ultimately not be set up for success. Having seen this before in numerous orgs, this was a big red flag that made my interest in the org wane. Overall, more cohesion, organization, and targeted interviewing for a leadership role like this would inspire a lot more confidence and enthusiasm for working here.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. One of our core values is a commitment to continuous improvement, and we are always looking for ways to improve both the organization and ourselves. We will definitely take these insights into consideration for future roles. We take hiring very seriously and it is always a top priority. While we recognize our process can be slower than other companies, we are confident that the systems we have in place create a fair, equitable, and consistent experience for all candidates—and ensure we find the right fit for the Mighty Citizen team. If you have any additional feedback, comments, or questions, please feel free to reach out to me, Carly Hohl, EVP of Operations at operations@mightycitizen.com. Thank you again!
