Meet the owner where ever you can, and talk to him. He doesn't care about past experience, he is much more interested in your personality. He looks for well put together people that have a strong ability to learn.

If the owner thinks you have potential as a dale. he explains to you verbally how to paint and interact with the crowd, then your first time actually working is live in front of an audience. My first time performing was in front of 6,000!
