I applied online. I interviewed at Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
Interview
First of all, the job description posted online was misleading. It described the position as involving more duties and being more well-rounded than it actually was. The 5-7 "primary" duties really was really only 1 primary duty, but I didn't find this out until the interview. This being said, I went into the interview with some different expectations.
Initial phone screening interview, where I was put on speakerphone and interviewed by two people at the same time. The woman mainly interviewing me was condescending and unprofessional. She had difficulty putting me on speaker phone and dropped the call. When she finally got the technology working, she had the wrong resume in front of her and didn't even know whom she was calling. She proceeded to make some snarky comments and questioned how I had gotten a positive recommendation from a current employee (all before the actual interview questions started). I knew from the first 30 seconds of the call that I wasn't going to get the job. I'm not sure what she had against me, but from my interview experience at the MSO, I was happy to find employment elsewhere.
