The interview process for a Head of Engineering typically involves multiple stages: initial screening, technical assessments, leadership interviews, and a final executive review, evaluating expertise, vision, and management skills.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mindee (Paris) in Feb 2023
Interview
Got contacted by their talent acquisition team. Wasn't looking at the moment but took take time to answer. After several back and forth emails, decided to accept to have a call with their CTO. It was a one hour monologue from him, quite condescending tone (e.g. told me I had "no diploma" when their own talent acquisition team called it a strong academic background smh), he describes the position, their numerous problems, their history etc, and when 5 minutes were left he realized he spent all time talking. Got a call afterwards with talent acquisition, when I told her my actual salary, she seems unsure how to proceed and told me that she would send me an email in two weeks. Never heard from them since, which is not really professional. From the CTO own words, they don't really have an hiring process, so you might have a live coding challenge or a take home exercise. It also might be what you'll be up to from what he said.

Interview
I received an email from a person from the recruiting team to schedule an interview. She provided a link so I could check her availability and select a time slot. After doing that, I got a confirmation for our interview for next week (Monday at 13:30). Next week came and I was preparing for the interview. The time was 13:29 (1 minute before the video interview) when I received an interview cancellation email from her mentioning that she would call me later in the afternoon. I responded immediately asking for a specific time, so I could check my availability and block my calendar. No response. Next day I sent a follow-up email asking if we would have this interview. No response. Today is Thursday evening and of course: No response. Not the best experience.
-- UPDATE --
I received a call from the same person a couple of days after I posted this review, mentioning the reason that she was not able to attend the interview. We had the chance to have a short interview over the phone. After a couple of days I received another call informing me that my application was not successful, as they were looking for someone with more experience on UI/UX.
