Interview
The process involved 10 carefully designed questions covering educational background, technical skills, work experience, communication abilities, and ethical standards. Supervisors alternated asking questions about accounting knowledge, Excel proficiency, audit experiences, sales tax understanding, and workplace interpersonal skills.

"What is your education and experience with reading and interpreting financial statements and tax returns?"
"What education and experience do you have with using Excel? How would you review and isolate transactions within a large data set?"
"Provide an example of a previous audit experience or exposure you have had. What was your role or contribution to the audit and what was the outcome?"
"What experience and/or basic knowledge do you have of sales and use tax? Give examples of how sales and use tax applies in the state of Minnesota."
"What does diversity and inclusion mean to you, and how does it apply to the workplace?"
"Tell us about a time when you had the opportunity to work with someone who had the opposite personality of yours. Are you able to overcome your communication style differences to work together successfully?"
"Give us an example of a time you had to provide negative feedback. What were the challenges, and how was the situation resolved?"
"If you knew a co-worker was doing something illegal or against company and policy, what would you do?"
"What techniques and tools will you use to keep yourself organized and ensure that none of your work is neglected?"
"Give an example of a time when your boss or professor gave you too much work. How did you handle the situation? What was the outcome?"
It is a standard one-hour behavior interview with about 10 questions. The questions were provided ahead so I can review in five minutes before heading for interview. There were two interviewers. One did interview the other mainly recording.

I applied to the position in September 2017, got contacted in October to come in for an interview, had the interview in November, got offered a position in December, and then started in the middle of January
