      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Mochi Health (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

30 minutes with a recruiter, a panel interview with a hiring manager (behavior), and two interviews with software engineers (general coding, not LeetCode) and a system design (basic one). Later, onsite team matching with their CEO, Engineering Manager, Staff and Senior engineers. During the panel interview, you will work with real pro-engineers you want to work with in the future; the onsite one will disappoint you. Expect charades; prepare yourself to speak corporate nonsense to their engineering manager, staff, and senior software engineers, who, of course, start reading your CV for 5 minutes in silence in front of you and admitting that they need to call your employer to verify your level of involvement in the projects listed in your CV.

      Question 1

(Deep Dive) Tell me about a project you are most proud of. What problem were you solving, and how did you approach it? Who did you communicate with? And what would you do better?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mochi Health in Feb 2025

      Interview

I applied directly. The first round with recruiter, quick just questions about experience, info about role and salary expectations. She was late but overall seemed pleasant and was very prompt with scheduling. 2nd round was 30 min with junior-ish frontend engineer, coderpad, build a small react component dropdown. She was great, easy to chat with. 3rd round was another 30 min with a more senior frontend engineer, via coderpad call api and display data. I struggled a bit with some syntax, but interviewer was pleasant and helpful in finding my bug. Never heard back after 3rd round one way or the other. I was already leery given some of the reviews here that mention a toxic workplace and micromanaging CEO, so sounds like I dodged a bullet. Overall it was a good experience and practice so I won't hold that against them.
