I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Monarch Money (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Nov 2024
Interview
Very cool process: screening call, take home (design system), tech interview (live coding a real project), product sense interview, eng manager interview, offer)
it was a very nice process that I really enjoyed
I applied online. I interviewed at Monarch Money in Feb 2025
Interview
Met with initial screener before proceeding to interview with the c-level hiring manager. The hiring manager seemed disinterested in the interview, but asked typical questions - current role, leadership experience, reporting structure. Hesitant to answer my questions about the company's stability or long term outlook. Their wifi also experienced issues during our Zoom call and they dropped off for several minutes. After much delay, they dialed in to continue the conversation but didn't offer to extend the meeting to compensate for the lost time.

Question 1
Who do you currently report to, how many direct reports do you have
The process included Hiring Manager Interview, Take Home assessment, interviews with 2 colleagues separately. Final coding interview. Everything felt relatively easy, but the coding interview was a react/typescript setting, and as a background in backend, I may have underperformed in that.

Technical Debugging Scenario Take-Home that wasn’t very difficult.
