      Marketing Assistant Interview

      11 Feb 2018
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Monarch Movements in May 2017

      Interview

I applied and in 24 hours they contacted me with interview. False adverstising as this is a SALES role (NOT Marketing) and with a Management Trainee Course that is for the most part Comission-based. The Hiring Process is a four-steps process : 1st: Telephone to ask generic questions and will call you to an interview the next day (all the time). 2nd: First day interview with a manager, (when you get there you complete a form with your details; again), which will ask really easy question (to pretend that their are interested in you, as they will tell you their Management Trainee Scheme). 3rd: Manager will ask you to come the next day for their assessment day, which is usually the whole day (from 10:30 to 18:00, my one). You will do that day door-to-door marketing/sales. 4th: Same day you will have an interview with the manager and another leader to discuss your day. Usually they tell you that only the best two will get the job, but if you do a decent/average job that day, they will hire you anyway. Management Trainee Course (6-12 months based on performance): - first 3 months doing door-to-door sales (commission based pay) - afterwords train other people in the same sales tactics you just learn (commission based pay and piramid scheme-like process) - after 6 or 8 months based on performance, you open another office where you are sales manager and recruit other people with the se tactics (maybe fixed salary- do not know)

Hi, Thanks for your review. Monarch Movements is an outsourced sales and marketing company. Marketing is defined as "the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising." which is exactly what we do for our clients. We invest a great deal of time into our recruitment process, operating a three stage interview process, because we are committed to identifying the right individuals for the roles. The process is very competitive, and only the candidates with the right work ethic, student mentality and suitability to the role will be offered a position. People doing an "average / decent job" will not be successful. A pyramid scheme is an illegal business model and any allegation that our company is involved in such practices is not only false but defamatory. We operate a meritocratic business model where people earn and develop based on performance. Also, unlike illegal pyramid schemes, there is no seniority and the sky is the limit. It's evident this type of role wasn't for you and it's unfortunate you never enjoyed your experience. Best of luck in the future.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Monarch Movements (London, England) in Jan 2018

      Interview

Fairly simple. I got contacted briefly after my application to confirm my details and full time availability. I met the manager during my first interview with company, we spent more time talking about topics of interest than my skills. He then spoke about the company goals too. I went back for a second interview, an open day with the team to understand the different levels within the company.

      Marketing Assistant Interview

      10 June 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Islington, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Monarch Movements (Islington, England) in June 2017

      Interview

I received an email and called the office. I attended an interview that day Management were friendly and the front of house staff were really helpful but talking to themselves a bit so I think I was there a little longer than I needed to be. I sat with a South African guy and he covered what the company did and why they moved the company to the UK. Asked me a few questions about myself and explained that their agreement with there clients prevents them from head hunting managers from competing companies and that they will only internally promote. I did not have the most updated version of my CV so I went through my current role. Nice guy but has to be a little arrogant to think that their training method is better than every one of their competitors

Hi, Thanks for your review. It's great to hear your positive comments about our staff. We are a people business and so it's important everyone we work with has excellent communication and people skills. You met with our CEO who is South African. He takes a very hands on role in the day to day running of the business and that is why he is so confident in our training methods and why our business continues to thrive. Best of luck in your future endeavours.
