Applied through their website. One of their in house recruiters got in touch after a couple of days and we had a short informal (15 min) phone call.
After the recruiter there were two interviews with the manager.
The 1st interview was by MS Teams and covered all the regular questions, like «Tell us about yourself» and «Why do you want to work here». This interview lasted approximately 45 min.
The 2nd interview (with the same people) was on site and lasted around 30 min. They asked «where do you see yourself in 5 years» and «what do you want to achieve». Pretty standard stuff.
Although I received an offer, I turned it down for the following reasons:
- Refusal to provide information. Seriously, when they gave me the offer they wouldn’t even let me read the contract before I committed. What are they hiding?!
Throughout the hiring process, every time I requested information from the recruiter they would either not reply at all, or only tell me in a phone call. They want no written record!
- At the same time they demanded info and cooperation from me - again - without being willing to offer any type of info in return. They wanted my references right after the 1st interview, long before there was any talk of an offer. This is a huge red flag!
- When I received the official offer they demanded proof I had the right to work in the country I live in, although I had not accepted the position yet. They demanded I sent them this highly sensitive document before any commitment was made. Another red flag!
Although Mondelez is an international company, they’d do well to learn local markets and social norms. In the country my interview took place in it is expected of both the prospective employee AND the employer to be forthcoming and transparent.
Failure to do so will cause suspicion and distrust.
I made a reasonable request and if they’d provided me with the info, I would have accepted the job.
