I had a screen call with Tech Recruiter and was ready for all the tech interviews. But the next call - with the Engineering Manager(the one from Warsaw) just nipped everything in the bud. More than an hour we talked about possible conflicts and their resolution, what I've learned from this interview - in Mongo DB you should never go to the Manager with any problems in the team or write negative feedback, even if someone in the team behaves weirdly and impacts the delivery process negatively. So, besides development, mentoring, and volunteering you as well must accomplish the manager's work and cope with inadequacy of any level. As a female I'm just wondering, if harassment happened, I can't go to Manager too? Anyway, I wasn't asked about my experience or my leadership qualities, that person was just talking about conflicts only. I tried to stay positive and share my thoughts, like yes, it's important to resolve everyday working moments but he didn't seem satisfied. I've got a reject without any feedback a few hours after the interview. I wrote to Recruiter with a request to provide at least the smallest feedback and reason for rejection, but the answer was never received. I'm pretty frustrated bc of this poor interview experience, and I didn't even get a chance to show my tech expertise.

Interviewer had a particular solution in mind that took a different approach from my own. My solution was algorithmically correct but not one that they were familiar with and preferred a non-closed form solution.

Process was: Recruiter screening, Phone Screen, 5 Virtual Onsite. The whole process took a long time. I loved each interviewer, they were really friendly, nice and passionate with their work. The interview questions were unique and on the harder side but well organized.
