I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MongoDB (New York, NY) in Dec 2019
Interview
This was a very thorough and well structured interview process. The recruiter I worked with was extremely helpful in guiding me through the entire process; they provided ample material and information to be set-up for success in each portion of the interview process. All the information is provided and/or can be found online in MongoDB docs and FAQs , but it is up to you to put in the time to study and prepare (especially in the later stages!). Here is a breakdown of my interview process:
1.) Phone screen with a recruiter
2.) Video call with a manager
3.) Video call with CSM
- prep call with CSM for on-site
4.) 2 hour on-site: 30 minute tour with CSM, 30 min Q&A with Manager, 45 minute case study/ presentation, 15 minute debrief
5.) 30 minute demo of Atlas with Manager
Take-aways: MongoDB is very big on sharing immediate feedback. Be sure to implement this feedback throughout your interview process!
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at MongoDB
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me back in October. Had various interviews and was a very start/stop process. Original recruiter was fired, one of the team members I interviewed with left the company. No one would explain why or what happened with them. Company would go on hiring freeze and week later, no more freeze. Red flags everywhere. Final round was a presentation round which is a lot of effort for an interview process. They expect you to know their product inside/out during the presentation when this is only an interview. Overall, declined offer as the interview process is indicative of the company and believe I dodged a bullet.

Interview
Company makes very positive impression and two people I had a pleasure to speak with were highly professional. After speaking with recruiter and team leader unfortunately I never received any feedback about next stage or disqualification, lack of communication at that stage was a bit disappointing.

Process was thorough and organized, there is an interviewee portal used that details where you are in the process, who you've met with, who you're going to meet with, and any reference materials needed to complete each step. Communication was reliable throughout the process.
