The interview was supposed to be behavioral based on what the recruiter had said.
In practice, neither it was a behavioral interview nor the questions were related to
major points written in the job description (AI/ML, collaboration with leadership, etc)!
Instead, they were more interested in knowing what communication tool and programming language I was using!
While researching the company online to prepare for the interview, I found that:
its website says their focus is the following: Blockchain, Biotechnology, Space, Aging, Automation.
From the info I found on their website and their social media pages,
I didn't find even a single project related to the above 5 topics!
Neither did I find anybody working in the company who had expertise in one of the above!
The projects that I found were all very basic (e.g., an app for reserving tables in coffee shops, an app for accessing short educational videos, that by their own admission are not novel)!
The company has been around for 2.5 years. They have incubated tens of different ventures. Yet they don't even have a single venture that has been somewhat successful (e.g., a B2C app that has been downloaded 1000 times or a B2B product that had a single customer).
While I found the above by reading about the company online, what I heard from them during the interview confirmed my findings.
