I applied online. I interviewed at Moovweb in June 2020
Interview
I applied on a Sunday, got a response Monday morning and set up a call for that afternoon. The turnaround speed was very exciting!
Unfortunately the interviewer was about 15 minutes late to the call and then abruptly ended the call after less than eight minutes.
I have never had that experience before and immediately lost interest in the company. Further, they never even bothered to follow up with me in any regard.
Behaviorial questions such as "tell me about a time when you had to deal with a hostile co-worker, what did you do to resolve the issue", and "what do you do to ensure a customer deadline is met". Also basic background interview questions such as "tell me why you left your last position". Did not ask technical questions. The process was fairly straightforward, and there was only two rounds of interviews.
I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Moovweb in Feb 2020
Interview
I interviewed with something like 7-8 different people over a number of weeks, some of them more than once. This included a couple of tech interviews and a coding project. I met with the CEO, and several members of senior management. At every step along the way, the feedback was extremely positive. I was told to expect a written offer several times, then nothing. I kept checking in, and I was then told they were considering me for two different positions and they were putting together 2 different offers. Then nothing again.
Finally, the recruiter called and said they were going in a different direction. OK - no problem, I get it.
A couple of weeks later the recruiter called me back and said they were reconsidering me. He set up another round of interviews, which I did. Again, great feedback and was told verbally that an offer was forthcoming. I waited maybe another week before the recruiter called me back and said they were going to pass.
I completely understand wanting to pick the right person for the job and not choosing me if they felt like I wasn't the best fit. Stringing me along like that for nearly 2 months isn't cool. Telling me multiple written offers were imminent is not cool.
I liked everybody I spoke to and felt that, in person, they were very professional. They need to treat candidates better, however. I don't know if my experience is unique, but the rollercoaster of getting excited about an offer more than once and having the rug pulled out from under you is not something companies should put candidates through. This doesn't even take into account the amount of time and effort wasted on both sides.
