      Research Assistant Interview

      20 Apr 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      East Altoona, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mountain Research (East Altoona, PA) in Sept 2012

      Interview

Expect a 4+ hour interview (a large investment if you end up not getting hired, like me). The employees seem decent but the owner is a pompous and inconsiderate individual. The owner actually told me that he liked my approach and talent and would hire me if I secured a college degree in a specified field. I did that -and now, 4 years and $60,000 later, nothing . . . so that's why I'm here still looking for work . . . Your interview is likely to be with 8 or so senior employees and the owner all at once and they cover everything. I was very well prepared for even the most difficult/"tricky" questions and felt that I did very well with the interview but still was not hired. Good luck : )

      Question 1

They will ask you to explain technical procedures, but interrupt you repeatedly instead of taking turns to ask questions
