      Python Backend Engineer Interview

      3 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Lagos
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mozio (Lagos) in Mar 2022

      Interview

Interviews process was nothing to write good about. After completing the assessment and having to write an email requesting a feedback, also different interviews with HOP, Team Lead & CEO, after finally getting the job (said by the CEO in the last interview, have an email to show insinuating this) and told to wait for 3 weeks as they need to hire another engineer and would not want to have to onboard twice. Needing to request for an update on the third week requesting a feedback on my start date and offer terms, just to receive a response that they chose not to move forward with my application (after letting me know I got the job at the last interview). This is the worst candidate experience I have ever encountered. It was pathetic. An organisation should be well set up, forthright, straight forward with the hiring processes and procedures. If i was not a right fit for the role and had been rejected at any point in the process, even the finals - I would not have this reaction but, to lead me on, offer ,e a job then after 3 weeks rescind it? Absurd.

Hi Charles, We're deeply sorry to learn that you feel we were not fair during the recruitment process you recently went through in order to join Mozio. While we agree our process tends to be lengthy, hiring for a remote position takes a lot of getting to know the person without the ability of seeing them in person. We hire only 1% of the candidates that apply to the positions we have open to guarantee we are only keeping the best of the best. We are always available to answer your questions and concerns throughout the process and never reply your emails with more than 2-day delay. On the other hand, Mozio never offers a position verbally to a candidate on the recruitment process. A formal offer letter is always sent and a contract is always signed before confirming someone for a position at Mozio. You may have been explained that the interview with our CEO was the last step in the process and this may have been misinterpreted as an offer. Nevertheless, we never extended a formal offer to you nor expressed the position would be yours during the recruitment process. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours and appreciate your feedback.
