I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Music Connects (New York, NY) in Jan 2013
Interview
I applied for the job by submitting my cover letter and resume in response to an ad posted online. Someone emailed me back a week later and said they were interested in scheduling an interview after finding out a little more about me. She asked for a minimum of 3 references and for me to fill out an employee application that looked pretty standard. I've filled it out in the past for other companies and it basically asks me to list my past employers (like a resume) but I also have to reveal how much I actually made. I also could write how much is my ideal salary.
After submitting those additional info requested, they scheduled a Skype interview with me since I live in another state.
The person I was interviewed by was very friendly, straight forward, and honest. She asked a lot more questions than I expected. She actually called all my references beforehand also. She mostly asked me about my past experience including questions like how long it would take to turn around a story, and why I left my older job. She asked what my current job was. There was a 3 month gap on my resume, so she even asked what I was doing at that time. She really looked at my resume and asked me specific questions regarding my past jobs.
She also brought up potential situations that may occur in the company and asked how I would react.
