      Social Media Manager Interview

      4 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Penn, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MustardSeed (Penn, PA) in Sept 2024

      Interview

The company deleted my first review. So I’m posting again. My experience interviewing with Mustard Seed was disappointing and frankly disheartening. From the moment the interview began, I felt an uncomfortable shift in the interviewer’s attitude, as if I was being judged on something other than my skills and qualifications. It became clear that biases played a role, making me feel immediately discriminated against. A company’s interview process should be focused on evaluating candidates based on merit, not superficial judgments. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. I expected a fair and professional experience but instead encountered behavior that made it obvious I was being unfairly assessed. I strongly encourage mustard seed to reflect on their approach and strive for a more inclusive and unbiased process moving forward.

      Social Media Manager Interview

      23 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pittsburgh, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MustardSeed (Pittsburgh, PA) in Oct 2024

      Interview

Two separate calls, an assessment and a scheduled 1.5-hour session with the CEO to dive into “job history” in unnecessary detail. On top of that, they require direct conversations with your last three employers, raising red flags about trust issues and a potentially controlling work environment. To make matters worse, they canceled one of the meetings right as it was supposed to start, highlighting a lack of professionalism and respect for your time. Altogether, these are significant warning signs regarding both their process and company culture.

We are committed to respecting candidates' time and upholding the highest level of professionalism in our recruitment process, so I’m truly sorry to hear we missed the mark in your experience. Regarding our in-depth interview and reference-check approach, MustardSeed follows the "Top-Grading" method, a widely recognized process aimed at gaining a comprehensive understanding of a candidate's strengths, areas for improvement, and work history. This approach helps us ensure the best fit for both the candidate and the position before making a hiring decision. Again, I apologize that your interview experience did not meet your expectations. If you would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our CEO directly at steve@mustardseedpmo.com. We appreciate your honesty and are committed to using your feedback to improve.
