      Copywriter Interview

      29 July 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sacramento, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MyOutDesk (Sacramento, CA) in June 2024

      Interview

I was first contacted and interviewed via zoom by HR chief people manager and she was really amazing. I sent her work and design samples and got a second zoom interview with the CEO, Daniel Ramsey. The zoom video call went great and I provided some work samples live, and he invited me back to meet in person. I was poised for a copywriter or digital marketing manager role. I drove over 200 miles to the interview in Sacramento for the role. It was a huge disappointment. The CEO was bullying and rude. He played footsies and made comments about my long legs. Very arrogant and not a good listener. He would ask questions and get distracted on his cell phone. At least 3 times he derailed the conversation by belittling me and my abilities after ignoring responses. The entire interview in person was crazy making. They never reviewed work samples that were sent a week earlier to prepare. Daniel required me to hook up my computer and dig around for more work samples on my Google drive on the board room screen. Nothing is ever enough and he pushed every boundary. This experience left me with the worst possible feeling and I never looked back after leaving that hellhole. They did a great job of completely wasting my time and gas, and making me feel like all my accomplishment were totally insignificant. I will never use their service or step foot near that place again. Blacklisted!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

He asked about the length of my legs. I was asked several times for design samples that they had already reviewed prior to my 3rd interview but somehow lost them. I was asked about digital marketing results and when they were being shown the conversation was turned into a crazy making circle of negativity.
