      Senior Design Engineer Interview

      24 Oct 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Richmond, BC
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at NETGEAR (Richmond, BC)

      Interview

A quick phone chat followed by several interviews during which I did a quick test and met with about a dozen employees (engineers, managers and HR). The company looks like a great place to work. Not a single person struck me as a someone I would not want to work with/for. All of them were very friendly, enthusiastic about their job and company and straight to a point. Yet it took several months for Netgear to make a decision. And this was an ordinary engineering position, not a manager, team lead, principal designer etc. The process was too long IMHO. Somehow a large company with HR needs several months to go thru hiring process. Meanwhile I got an equivalent job with a small dynamic company that has no HR where interview was done in a day followed by an offer next week. Makes you wonder.
