I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NEXT (Wembley, England) in June 2016
Interview
Applied online and also handed my CV into the store. There was a bit of confusion but I managed to get called in for an interview/assessment. The assessment consisted of me just shadowing one of the sales team and she showed me around the shop floor and showed how to do things on the till. I thought it would be more of an assessment where I would engage with customers. As I had not previously worked in retail I was just listening and asking questions if I didn't understand anything. I think they are looking for a more experienced person for the job as they didn't want to train people. I clearly didn't have prior experience so I didn't manage to get the job - purely based on the assessment and no interview!
We were put on the sales floor for an hour, we were all given different roles, they were easy tasks like folding shirts and re-tidying all the clothes, they assessed how efficiently we worked.
Group interview showing us around the shop and health and safety videos. Were quite quick when showing us how to tag clothes. Didnt go into details about certain roles and didn't tell us where we would be working.
