NZ Transport Agency interview questions

The interview process was standard, easy, and timely in getting back to us. For the graduate programme, there was an assessment day during which we completed both a solo interview and a group activity.

Received a call from HR booking in a panel interview a few days later. HR had asked "What motivated you to apply for this role?" and spoke about the role itself and start dates. Had online panel interview and was solely focused on 6 behavioural questions. Went by fairly quickly and smooth. Positive experience and was called back by HR saying that they wanted to do reference checks and told me more about the role, including changes to the roster and start date (was initially meant to start early June but got moved to end of June). Finalised reference and background checks only to be called and told they weren't able to hire as many people and took on internal candidates instead. They asked if I'd instead be interested in a CSR role, but it didn't align with my goals so I did not pursue. I wish staffing decisions had been clear before they decided to move me to the next stage because it exhausted my time and energy.
