      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Nation United (McLean, VA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

They contacted me after submitting my resume and had me come in a week later. I talked with the receptionist over the phone and then came in and sat with a lot of candidates. i had a quick interview where they asked a few questions and gave a little speech about how they make a lot of money. I had a few questions about the job and they answered them pretty vaguely. I got a call later that day that asked if I could come down for a hour long interview as soon as possible. I went down a week later and sat down wth one of the Account Managers where he explained the day to day job. Essentially they go door to door asking if people will learn more about their consumer. It sounded like a pyramid scheme where people grow and make money off of finding new employees. The hours were not ideal, working Monday- Saturday until almost 6 or 7 each day. I also found it strange that they pretty much offered me the job right away and asked if i could start the day after my college graduation. After I said I needed time to think about the offer, they kept insisting that they would see me the day after graduation. I wish they had been more honest about what they did up front instead of having people come all the way to them twice. They make it sound like a glamorous marketing job. I think it would be a good fit for some people but you have to want to knock on peoples doors 6 days a week and it just wasn't for me.

      Interview

I'm not usually one to write reviews but I will leave this here because I wish myself wish I listened to some of the reviews I read, so hopefully this will be helpful for the next prospect. Once I applied I got a call immediately the next day. I was a little skeptical at how quick they were to contact me, but I figured since they are a "start-up" it was understandable. From what I was told the interview process is 3 steps - first they have you "put a face" to the resume (10-15 minute interview where the manager asks about yourself and then explains what they do), then in the second they said they will give you more details on the actual position and job description, and then third I'm not too sure because I will not be making it. This is a door-to-door job. Don't let the title, company website, and the description of their company as a marketing firm fool you as I was. That's how they will start you, and then later as you "gain experience" thats where you land that manager job they pitched you with. It took me asking the right questions to finally get this out of the manger's mouth. However, I applaud the way they mask the truth about the actual job description and what their company does through the job postings on LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc., their company website, and then their social media platforms - they are a true "marketing firm." While a door-to-door job may work for some people, this was not for me and I wish I listened to the other reviews that were written on here because it is true. I felt scammed. But I'm not upset, I am just more keen now. It seems they prey on desperate job seekers and recent college graduates, and fortunately for them there are many. At one point there were almost four interviewees? in the lobby including the one being interviewed. That's how many interviews they've extended. And I could hear the receptionist still setting interviews on the phone with even more potential people - I would say almost 4 different people every 3 minutes? somewhere around that. The people who worked there were however honestly very nice, and I have nothing against them. I just wish the company would be more upfront about the job description instead of making it sound like a completely different one. I wish them the best in their business.

      Junior Marketing Associate Interview

      26 July 2017

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Nation United in July 2017

      Interview

I applied through Zip Recruiter and immediately was contacted for an interview. The office was old and dingy with ripped couches and stained floors. There were very few people in the small office. There were a few young women with one older man working in separate offices. The older man interviewed me. He did not ask me anything about my resume or past work experience. He told me about what the company did but I could barely understand him because he was speaking so fast and mumbling the whole time. The interview concluded with him asking if I would be available for another interview on the following day. The whole meeting seemed unnecessary and sketchy. It was a waste of my time and I will not be going back.
