The interview experience was unfortunately not positive. The interviewers' demeanor was quite distant and gave the impression that their minds were already made up before they even saw me. It was unprofessional for them to share that an extra written exercise was being added to the process to help them "shortlist further," and that there were "nearly 300 applicants." This level of detail only adds anxiety; they could have just said "high number."
Additionally, we had significant technical difficulties with the Teams link they provided. The issue was on their end, not mine, as Teams has always worked for me in the past. This delayed the interview and did not instill confidence in their recruitment process or IT systems. I tried to make light of the situation when I finally joined, but they remained stony-faced. I got the impression they viewed the techinical problems as my fault.
On top of this, I had to pause the interview to correct several captioning mistakes, which was both disruptive and concerning, as what I said was being typed out incorrectly. This meant the interviewers were not getting an accurate account of my experience. For a more reliable process, NDCS may want to check qualifications and NRCPD registration in the future.
I have to say, by the end of it, I was happy to be unsuccessful, as I would have turned the role down anyway. Interviews are a two way process.

I applied online. I interviewed at National Deaf Children Society
Interview
Interview had two rounds. One is technical and the other is competency based. But they concentrated more on competency based questions rather than technical. The interview process includes application screening, an initial phone interview, skills assessment, and panel interviews. It evaluates experience, technical skills, and cultural fit before making a final hiring decision.
