      Software Engineer (C++/Python) Interview

      23 Sept 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NavVis in Sept 2022

      Interview

      First, HR contacted me and we held a 30min. call. It was about general background of mine and introduction of the Navvis products. HR meeting was good and she was nice. Second, Code Challenge is given for a 1 week, Content was: 1 code review and 1 code implementation. To be honest, review was good but the second part was not clear in terms of the specifications and/or requirements. As far as I understand, they are reviewing the task by looking at the extra(s) but they don't ask from us to implement. That was weird. After 1 week, I asked for a update for my process and HR replied to me as they are not able to see my Code Challenge attached in the mail and I haven't notified about this and I learned that after double-checking with HR. I've sent the solution again and they moved on after my double-check email. So, If I didn't check again, I wouldn't hear from them anyhow? Third, 1st Technical Interview was all about myself, my experiences, navvis team structures etc. and detailed discussion about my solution to Code Challenge. It was nice in general, it was also interactive. They were asking me to find a solution about my missing points live. It took longer than 90min, which is the planned time, and I enjoyed. I had and negative auto-reply like email from HR. I asked for feedback and did not receive one. I've spent a lot of time for this interview process even though I had a terrible week that contains full of bad incidents. I've spent 2+ hours for interviews and 4+ hours for code challenge. At the end, I got an e-mail about negative result without feedback. My background + experience etc. are all available in my resume and I believe that I have done my best during the process. If they are going to pick "another candidate who is better fit" , why did I spent too much time for interviews + code challenge.
