I found the position through my university's online job board for alumni. I submitted an application and resume and was contacted by a person at the firm who handles administrative and HR functions. I had a 1:1 phone interview with a senior official at the bank who spent roughly 15 minutes of the 30 minute interview explaining the bank's business, history, niche clients, and development in Austin,TX. He then asked me questions about my proficiency with office/administrative roles. Additionally, he wanted to know if I was comfortable doing industry-focused market research in a fast-pace environment for bankers at the firm. The goal of this position is to handle administrative tasks and supplying senior bankers with reports on critical updates client industries.
Overall, I was very pleased with the process. I received the interview within a week or so of applying for the position and received a rejection email within two days of the interview. Few companies respond with that sort of speed to job interviewees, so I was very pleased with the HR/Admin. person whom I worked with throughout the process.
