      Customer Success Manager Interview

      23 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Jose, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Neat (San Jose, CA)

      Interview

Pros: • If you enjoy office politics, cliques, and passive-aggressive communication, you’ll fit right in. • Great opportunity for people early in their careers who don’t mind being micromanaged or treated as disposable. CONS: • After clearly withdrawing from the interview process due to outdated in-office requirements and poor communication, I still received a templated rejection email — despite never completing the interview. • Leadership appears highly reactive. Rather than taking feedback or disengagement professionally, there was a clear attempt to save face in a petty, almost retaliatory way. • I was contacted at a secondary email address by a different team member, which felt orchestrated and invasive rather than coincidental. • Based on this interaction alone, it seems likely that the culture operates on ego, not merit. • Glassdoor reviews about gossip, unprofessionalism, and cliquishness are consistent with my limited (but telling) experience. Advice to Leadership: If a candidate respectfully declines to interview, let it go. Professionalism includes knowing when to walk away without trying to “win.” Focus on strengthening your culture and your product — not micromanaging candidates who aren’t interested. Also, modernizing your remote work policies would go a long way toward attracting serious talent.
