Everyone was nice but the interview went on for an hour, No call back, the position remained opened for 3 months before seeing it was filled. There was no email/call telling me I did not get the job, I had too call/email before getting an answer.
First, I had an interview with the hiring manager and an HR representative. It was straightforward and consisted of standard behavioral questions and a few related to my knowledge about the job. The hiring manager had obviously read my resume carefully, which was nice. After hearing nothing for around 2 weeks, I suddenly was offered a second interview with more team members. This was a little more casual, with the team members asking me whatever they wanted to. Next came the part that annoys the heck out of me. A couple of weeks went by, and I checked in because I had heard nothing and at that point, they had already reposted the job twice (altering it once) without sending me an explanation. I know I'm not the queen, but I'm obviously actively job searching and will see the reposting and wonder what's going on. It's common courtesy to offer an explanation. I was told they're still interviewing people. I figured they were stringing me along and keeping me as a backup, but I have no idea why - am I missing some crucial knowledge, did I offend someone, are they looking for someone better or fulling diversity requirements, or would my start date not work (in which case, they could have decided that before the first interview because it was on my cover letter)? Employers expect so much information and courtesy from candidates. We deserve the same, and some transparency. More than four months later, and I still have no update (of course I've moved on with my job search). After taking a lot of my time to prepare for and attend two interviews, NEIWPCC's "ghosting" behavior is rude and unprofessional. This experience hasn't completely disabused me of the idea that I'd like to work for NEIWPCC, but it has thrown a bucket of ice-cold water on it.
