After your resume is reviewed and moved forward, there is a multiple steps. First is a a pre-employment assessment. They use Wonderlic, which they say "evaluates your cognitive skills, motivation and personality as it relates to the role you are interested in"
If you "pass" the Wonderlic, you move on to a pre-interview with an HR generalist. Next is an direct supervisor/team interview, and then an executive team evaluation.
I applied online. I interviewed at Nerdio in Mar 2026
Interview
My experience with the recruiter was actually very positive. The conversation was engaging, professional, and upbeat, and I came away genuinely excited about the opportunity. Based on the discussion, the recruiter was interested in moving me forward in the process.
However, at the end of the conversation, compensation was discussed and a significant discrepancy emerged between the job posting and the actual compensation for the role.
The position had been advertised with a base salary of up to $180,000. During our conversation, I was informed that this was incorrect and that the compensation was actually $160,000 OTE, which is materially different from a $180,000 base salary. As a candidate, I found that difference substantial enough to impact my decision to continue in the interview process.
It's unfortunate because the role itself seemed interesting, and my interaction with the recruiter was one of the more positive recruiting conversations I've had. However, accurate compensation information is important for candidates to evaluate opportunities and invest their time appropriately.
My feedback would be for the company to ensure that compensation details in job postings accurately reflect the actual pay structure being offered. Greater transparency would create a much better candidate experience.
Process
One round — a 45-minute phone screen with the recruiter. The recruiter reached out within a week of applying and was upfront about timeline and next steps from the start.
What to Expect
Standard intro call: background walkthrough, role overview, and a few questions about why I was interested in the company. Nothing unexpected. The recruiter clearly knew the role and could speak to team structure and what success looks like in the position.
Overall Impression
Efficient and respectful of my time. The recruiter was well-prepared and communicative — I had a clear sense of what the process would look like after just one call. Good signal that the company takes hiring seriously.
Advice to Candidates
Come ready to articulate why this role specifically. The recruiter asked pointed questions about fit, not just experience.
