Interview
First step was a screening with a recruiter with basic questions about your experience. The recruiter meets weekly with hiring managers to determine candidates to move forward with.
Second step was an interview with the hiring manager which is much more technical.
Third step is a take-home test without a deadline. I thought the instructions were clear but their response made me realize they were looking for something that wasn't clear in the instructions at all.
Next and possibly last step, according to them, is another technical interview in panel format.

Interview
I interviewed with Bright Health in September 2021. I applied online and received an email about a week later requesting a phone call with a technical recruiter to go over the role.
During the phone call, the recruiter told me the interview process would consist of the following: the phone call with the tech recruiter, a technical assessment (timed HackerRank test), a Zoom call with one or more hiring managers, followed by a panel interview with members of the Bright Health hiring/engineering team.
After the recruiter call, I was assigned and completed the tech assessment. Questions were LeetCode easy/medium. My advice would be if you get stuck, just show your work and your thought process as much as possible within the code editor.
Next was the Zoom call with the hiring manager (~30min). This conversation was mostly focused on my technical and professional background. I have several years of professional SWE experience, but in a different domain than what Bright Health was specifically hiring for. The conversation was mostly me trying to make the case for how my skills could translate to their team. I thought the call went OK overall. I received a rejection email a few hours later stating that my background wasn't a close enough match for the role.
Overall, the interview process was pretty good. Everyone was really nice throughout the process, and it went super quick. From application to the end, the process only took about 3 weeks. My only complaint is having to take a tech assessment before being told my background ultimately wasn't what they were looking for.

Virtual onsite
The process was very smooth and everyone I spoke with was extremely nice. It can be tough coordinating a virtual onsite but HR worked with me every step of the way and was flexible with scheduling.
Virtual onsite was pretty standard. The interviewers were nice and were willing to help when I got stuck on a problem. I could tell that the culture at Bright was great. It definitely factored in to my decision to accept the offer!
