Interview
I was called in for an interview to meet their program director. He asked me a few questions and towards the end of the interview called in another senior staff member to explain more about NYFA. When I left, the program director simply mentioned...we are still in the process of looking for a program officer. It was very vague and he had repeated that during the interview. So I wasn't sure of that meant...I think they need to make it clear to people if they are interested or not in pursuing the interview process.
The office is a nice space and a lot of staff had the luxury of bringing their dogs to work.

Interview
I was asked a series of questions specifically related to my experience. I was also asked what art publications I read. I was never notified whether or not I had been hired. I understand that sometimes employers are too busy to notify candidates, but in the case of a small organization like this, I felt it was unprofessional to not even send a follow-up email.

Interview
I originally applied for an internship at a different department. My interview went well, however I didn't get the internship for whatever reason. However, the head of the department (the woman who interviewed me) liked me so much that she recommended me to a Senior Officer in the Development department (because she felt that would be a better fit for me) and that's how I ended up interviewing and getting the internship. How incredibly kind is that! Anyway both times the interview was fairly quick and easy. No trick questions; just basic ones that you'd expect. My first interview took maybe 30 minutes and my second only took 10 minutes, and we talked about random things for 20 more minutes afterwards. No second interviews for both internships.
