I applied online. I interviewed at Newmark (Spokane, WA) in Dec 2025
Interview
I was highly disappointed in my interview experience, it was unprofessional and rude. The recruiter called me at the wrong time for my first interview, and then scheduled someone else's interview for my final interview (literally said the other person's name and was at a different time than mine was supposed to be). I didn't mention it, and she canceled that interview and rescheduled me, but this was very uncomfortable. After that, I didn't hear anything for over a month, despite sending a follow up email to check in on the role 3 weeks after my final interview (the role remained open/under consideration) and then an additional follow up a week after which I only sent them know that I had received an offer elsewhere and ask about the status of the position. Complete silence. Eventually, after over a month of interviewing multiple times and waiting, I was moved to "no longer under consideration" via the company portal. It felt very frustrating to be ghosted after making it through all interview rounds without so much as a quick response to my emails.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Newmark
Interview
Very relaxed, had a conversation with three total people from the head of the marketing department to the local person who I would be working with. Overall, it was a good experience speaking with the people of Newmark.
One thing: DO NOT TRY TO NEGOTIATE.
Whatever is in the offer letter is the best they can do for you. Corporate determines budgets and the HR rep has no power. They gave me an offer that was almost $15k below the average for this position in the city and when I countered to bring the pay up in line with city averages, they said they could not move the number one cent nor add any other benefits to sweeten the deal.
I get the feeling Newmark sees their support staff as a massive expense instead of what they truly are: what makes your business run.
