I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nexus Health Systems (Houston, TX) in Oct 2023
Interview
I was scheduled for an interview with the Controller who was a pleasure and transparent. She explained the position and what she needed to fufill the role. I had the second interview with 4 others and one of them showed up late, asked a bunch of rhetorical questions and left early. She didn't seem interested in the interview from the start.
I applied online. I interviewed at Nexus Health Systems (Houston, TX)
Interview
Speak with hr for pre-screen. First interview with direct supervisor. 2nd interview with VP of pediatric services and hospital CEO. The vp of pediatric services had a condescending tone whenever I would answer a question. Possibly belittling even. Her and the ceo seemed to have a “cliquish” relationship, which made the interview unbearably awkward. Leaders often set the tone, and it seemed like they may have lacked some self-awareness in that area. In a day and age where employees care more about feeling valued and being part of a healthy culture than they do about receiving a high salary; I can confidently say that I feel like I dodged a bullet with this one.

Question 1
Typical interview questions; nothing overtly challenging to answer. It was more so the negative attitude and poor leadership qualities of those conducting the interview that was a huge red flag.
Average interview. If you have experience, it’s not much to be said about anything unless it’s about your past experience. Other than that it’s a decent interview. Have all certifications before applying.
